I love cities, the silent buildings not revealing their stories. They are like people with scars who won’t blink or tell you anything. Cities constantly move. We take them for granted, we have our goals and pursuit them. Most people don’t notice the great details and secrets a city hides. I like to find these secrets and capture them. That’s why I like urban photography.

Giving an impression of a neighbourhood

Shooting urban photography gives an impression of what the neighbourhood looks like. What kind of people live here? What’s the style of buildings around? What’s the state of the neighbourhood? It gives you an impression what’s going on.

Estate agencies

Often when you see a house for sale, you see some nice pictures of the house, and the furniture. I am convinced people will rather contact a seller when also the neighbourhood is captured. I think one picture can give you a very good idea of what the environment looks like. Giving people a better idea is always for the best.

What if the possible buyer loved the house, but after a one-hour meeting and tour they decline because of the neighbourhood? Waste of time. Just one picture could have prevented you from having useless meetings.

Brochures, posters about an area, shops etc

Own a store and want to show it? A picture of your store where you can easily recognize the street is very effective for people to find it rather than having them search around… and finding your competitor. But urban photography also applies to many other uses. Have an idea? Contact me.
